Wasn’t it just yesterday that Raf Simons showed his summer collection in Florence, today he unveiled the campaign of his 2016 winter collection, which looks very much like a trailer for the series Twin Peaks.
The designer once again called upon photographer Willy Vanderperre and stylist Olivier Rizzo. Both Belgians are respected names in the world of fashion; and Vanderperre, Rizzo and Simons have known each other since they were studying in Antwerp. The Brussels model Luca Lemaire is once more the face of the campaign.
The theme is inspired by the American television series Twin Peaks, and was already seen when showcasing the winter collection in Paris. ‘I always think about nightmares, I’m always interested in horror movies’, explained Simons ‘I always like making beautiful things but it’s also interesting when something goes wrong, something’s weird, something’s dark, there’s very much this contrast.’
The obscurity, demonic possession and eeriness typical for the series of David Lynch have been captured strikingly by Vanderperre.
